LOUISIANA MEDICAID MEMBERS NEED A NEW PLAN. Here’s what you need to know ⬇️

✅The Louisiana Department of Health said Healthy Blue’s contract will end Dec. 31, 2026.
✅People who currently have Healthy Blue will not lose their Medicaid coverage, according to LDH.
✅ New health plans will take effect Jan. 1, 2027.

SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY CAMPUS POWER OUTAGE — Delayed Start

The Southern University Baton Rouge landmass is currently experiencing a power outage. Crews are assessing the situation, and there is not yet an estimated time for power restoration.

Southern University Baton Rouge, the Southern University Law Center, and SU Ag Center will have a delayed start today, with campus operations and classes beginning at 1 p.m.

Southern University Laboratory School will be closed for the day.

Limited meal service is available at Mayberry and Dunn Dining Halls.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional updates as information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

VIDEO: St. George firefighters were responding to this vehicle fire in Perkins Rowe this afternoon. Our breaking news photographer caught this video as he was driving by. In the video you can see the vehicle is completely engulfed in flames as other cars attempt to pass. I passed by around 4:30pm and the streets were still blocked off in the area.

HEADS UP! 190 OLD MISSISSIPPI BRIDGE CLOSURE.

Drivers heading from Baton Rouge to West Baton Rouge should get ready for a bridge closure starting Friday evening for emergency repairs. Drivers should expect delays and slowdowns in the area.

The closure will last through September 1.

✅ The I-110 south ramp to LA 408, or Harding Boulevard, will be closed

✅Drivers going west will be redirected to I-110 south, I-10 west, and LA 415 north.
