METRO COUNCIL PLANS TO HIRE A PARISH ATTORNEY WITHOUT TAKING APPLICATIONS. John McClindon is set to become the new Parish Attorney if some members of the Metro Council have their way. They have called a special meeting at 3 p.m. to name McLindon to the important position without posting the vacancy and taking applications from other candidates.

McLindon is a criminal defense lawyer, who is currently representing people close to the current or past Council and individuals who have been charged with crimes related to the past administration. His website says that his specialties are:
"• Gun Charges (https://www.mclindonlaw.

McLindon reportedly represents the husband of Metro Council member Laurie Adams, former Metro Council member Lamonte Cole, and the defendant in the recent CATS bribery case, among others.

John McCindon resides in Iberville Parish

Exactly why the Metro Council would bypass a normal process of receiving applications and consider only a criminal defense attorney is unknown.
