“MIZZOU PAYS POVERTY WAGES.” ✈️

That’s the message that flew over the University of Missouri’s home opener as LiUNA Local 955 workers rallied for a $19-an-hour minimum wage.

Some workers are making around $15 an hour while union members are fighting for higher wages and MU Health Care workers are fighting benefit changes affecting paid time off, holiday pay and retirement.

I’ve personally met some of these Mizzou workers — and their story deserves to be heard.

$19 an hour in 2026. Are they asking too much?

🇺🇸 Labor Day in Springfield, Missouri — and I’m asking working people the million-dollar question:

WHY UNION? ✊

Better wages. Better benefits. A pension. Safer jobs. A voice on the job. And a whole lot of solidarity.

There’s no better place to ask than the annual Springfield Labor Day Parade, surrounded by the men and women who built this country and keep it running.

TRIPLE TIME on Labor Day. 💰💰💰

That’s one of those union benefits that hits different when you see it on the check.

For us, anything after 8 hours is time-and-a-half, anything after 10 is double time, Saturdays are time-and-a-half, Sundays are double time—and working Labor Day? TRIPLE TIME.

That’s the power of a union contract. Better wages, better benefits, and premium pay for giving up your time when most people are off celebrating.

I sat down with Missouri AFL-CIO President Jake Hummel to talk about Amendment 6 and protecting the power of Missouri voters. We’ve already seen lawmakers repeal the paid sick leave voters approved in 2024—and we talk about what this could mean for protecting victories like Missouri’s defeat of Right-to-Work in 2018.

This one is about who should have the final say: the politicians or the people.

A $26 raise over five years — and that’s only part of what Heat & Frost Insulators Local 1 won in their new union contract. 🔥

I sat down with Business Manager Gary Payeur to break down the new agreement, including stronger rules for double-breasted contractors, better prevailing wage reporting, and guaranteed per diem for Local 1 members working eligible jobs.
