💍HAPPY ANNIVERSARY 🎉 Can't believe Ashley and I are celebrating 18 years married and 21 years together! Our relationship can officially drink. 🥂 I couldn't ask for a more loving, caring, beautiful and "fancy" women to spend my life with! Thank you for always being there for me through the good times and the bad. I love you to infinity!

🍻 Had a great time at the Portland/Vancouver Filmmakers mixer last night. Three major take aways I will bore you with.
🎬 😬
1) It is always great leaving my hole of an office and getting out to meet other passionate people. Specifically, I actually met my colorist in person, Lucas White | Freelance Colorist! Can't wait to get started with that. 2) I had a great conversation with Marty from Lucky Lobsters Productions. Always good to hear other peoples point of view and learn what they are doing to try and make it in this industry.
3) Funny enough I used to work 2 blocks from this place and I actually shot a short film in this abandoned lot like 12 years ago. And, No, it does not hold up. 😁 See last slides. Man how time flies!

Did a solo shoot last night to grab an insert shot for 24 Hours To Orbit. We never got to building this little light contraption, so we couldn't get it during principal. Now my hands will officially make it into the movie! Smack doesn't have anything on this hand model! 😬 Felt super cool with a tarp draped over this last little piece of the set in my driveway to keep the smoke in during the middle of the night. lol.

🚀 From spaceship film set to swing set. 🛝 That's what I call recycling! ♻️ We may be taking a lot of this to the dump, but we salvaged everything we could for future projects and lumber for projects just like this. She has been asking for a swing set for far too long so we finally were able to get it done for her. And her construction skills are coming along nicely!

🎬 Had a great time last night going to a screening of the new movie, The Brink of War, hosted by one of the executive producers Carl Beyer ! 🚀 It's always great getting together with other film makers, talking shop and celebrating others hard work. So thank you Carl and Tracy for hosting this, and thank you Grace and Craig for inviting us to hang out!

🎬 Finally was able to get back to Banyan Tree Films Studio and take down the last pieces of the ship set from . 🚀 It's sad to see all the months of hard work demolished in a few hours!
Now that all filming is done I can finally load all the sets, trash, props, etc and take it to the dump. It's insane how much waste a film can create. My 25' trailer is overflowing! And this is with keeping an entire shed's worth of stuff for future projects.

🎥 🍿 Super excited about the shots we picked up for this tree scene. 🌲 During principal photography, we had all sorts of wires and rigging to get our main talent high up in the tree. Unfortunately we ran out of time so we had to get a bunch of insert shots and stunt performer shots on the pickup day. And I am super proud that the whole team came together to get all the inserts we needed in a safe and efficient way. I love what you can get away with movie magic. We may have only been 5-10 ft off the ground but when we cut it with the stuff that's 25 ft off the ground. It looks seamless!

I can't remember the last time my face was captured on actual film. Probably dates back to the disposable wind and click cameras of the '90s. Huge thanks to Freeman Thor Slaughter for this photo while we had Pizza, our first hang, bro lunch. Is that a thing? Anyway, he killed it on set as our AC and I can't wait to work with you again my dude!

As much as I come from the VFX background I am never a fan of the over use of green screen in film. So we tried during principal photography to get this scene practically and we did, but... It just wasn't up to the quality of the rest of the film, so I decided to reshoot sections of this scene on green screen. Carson killed the lighting and I think it will cut seamlessly!

Last bit of camera prep today before the last day of filming for 24 Hours To Orbit. Huge thanks to Thor for coming all the way up from Eugene. Excited to have him on board for this last bit of filming! And big shout out to Joey for jumping in last minute to help fill in.
