Publishing is an expensive privilege. It takes skill and effort. There's no more real revenue in it, unless you're peddling influence under the table.

Let me share something with you other publishers won't:
How little revenue there is in the publishing game. The site is saturated with ads to the point people are disgusted by them. Doing that only earns a tiny tiny pittance of revenue, even when a hot story draws in a bunch of traffic. One dollar in seven days.

So why are there publishers still? If it's not for other reasons, like in my case where I use it to demo and test my technologies. Why would someone who isn't developing WordPress plugins or themes have some kind of skin in the game?
That puzzles me.

I wish I was a developer who was given special favors by City Council instead of a goofball who messes around with websites and pages. I want to come first too.
