full service recording and mixing in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. High fives free of charge. Located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn since 2005, and staffed by three musicians, GaluminumFoil is a full service tracking and mixing studio.
Our facility offers a large (400 sq. ft with 12 ft ceilings) tracking room, two isolation rooms, a large selection of new and vintage instruments, a 32-channel Neotek Elite console, and plenty of outboard gear. Our 24-track MCI JH-24 tape machine is available for all sessions, and we have a library of (gently) used tape reels for rent.
Mission: Chris Cubeta is a singer/songwriter/producer who likes to make music when he is not eating, drinking or sleeping. He has worked with John Hammond Jr, Tony Levin, Golden Earring, Ahmad Jamal, Bob Johnston, Eddie Kramer, Augie Meyers, David Hidalgo and Oz Fritz. He has produced records for dozens of amazing up and coming artists from NYC. He hopes you will someday know who they are. He plays guitar, piano and drums. He likes to produce good music. If you are nice he tries to be nice too. Jeff Berner is a producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist. He’s worked with many artists over the past seven years at GaluminumFoil – Naam, Genesis P’Orridge & Psychic TV, Dead Stars, Heliotropes, Quiet Loudly, Gunfight, Crazy Pills, Weird Owl. The Glorious Veins, Tatiana Kochkareva, and Ian Love among them. Jeff also plays guitar in Psychic TV and Chris Cubeta & The Liars Club, owns way too many effects pedals for a person with only two feet, and wishes daily for a way to magically combine Tapatio Hot Sauce and his Roland Space Echo. Gary Atturio is a producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist at GaluminumFoil. He has worked with Brooklyn-based bands Savoir Adore, Dinosaur Feathers, Little Anchor, The Denzels, Steel Phantoms, EULA, and Boy Girl Party, just to name a few. When Gary is not in the studio, he is either coming up with a new pork chop marinade, eating a taco somewhere, or playing bass with Savoir Adore or I Am Lightyear. Accepted forms of payment are cash, check, and Miller High Life.

Almost 9 months since finding out that the original Galuminumfoil was going to have to relocate, we have some very exciting news to announce. The plan all along was to build a bigger and better version in a new location. After seeing over thirty properties, I finally found the right fit as part of a large warehouse in Bushwick. Minutes (Literally) after our lease got finalized by my attorney, I received a text message from Joel Hamilton asking me if I'd be interested in partnering with he and Tony Maimone at the fantastic Studio G. I was of course flattered and shocked. In less than 24 hours Tony, Joel, and I came to an agreement on how it would all work.
In short, I am now, humbly, a partner at Studio G Brooklyn. Galuminumfoil Productions, which includes my two dear friends, Jeff Berner and Gary Atturio, will remain intact and operate exclusively out of Studio G Brooklyn. As currently configured, the facility consists of three, fully operational recording studios, and by the end of the Fall will boast an additional overdub and mixing suite. As amazing as the equipment and the rooms are, the most exciting part about this is the collection of people working under one roof every day.
There will be many more details and a full on-line makeover for both Studio G and Galuminumfoil in the coming months. Thank you all so much for your support over the last ten years at the old location, and we look forward to, hopefully another, even longer run at our new location.

One of the last sessions at the original location. Awesome, garage band from Brooklyn called Team Spirit. Check it out! http://www.thewildhoneypie.com/team-spirit/
The garage rock outfit Team Spirit offers a visceral slice of dampened vocals and ringing guitars. Former Passion Pit keyboardist Ayad al-Adhamy fronts this melodic, yet adrenaline fueled proto-punk band seamlessly blends the appeal of pop rock with the harsher drum beats of the band’s self-describe…
Happy New Year!
We're still working very hard to find a new space - please keep your fingers crossed! In the meantime, we'll be open until the beginning of February.
It Is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of Galuminumfoil Studios. After almost ten years, our landlords have decided to sell the land and knock down our building to build housing. We could not be more grateful to all of you who have spent your hard-earned money to make music with us over the years. It has been an honor and a privilege. Jeff, Gary and I will continue to make records and work out of other studios around town while we regroup and, hopefully, build a new studio. As most of you know, real estate prices in New York have risen astronomically over the last decade, so it will be difficult to find a new space. But we're trying.
There are too many of you to list everyone's names, but if you’ve ever spent a dollar, had a beer, or played on a record with us, watched a small concert in the live room, slept in the tiny crawlspace above the control room, lifted a hammer, hung insulation, graffitied our gate, lent us a drum set, or just said you love the smell of the wood in our space, we have one thing to say:
Chris, Jeff and Gary
You can reach us at:
Chris - [email protected]
Jeff - [email protected]
Gary - [email protected]
Jeff and Chris will be on tour most of November and part of December. Gary is booking sessions and we are also offering up good deals for lockouts if you have your own engineer. Get in touch!
