How on earth do we once again dress up the same forecast that we've been putting out and somehow make it interesting, especially since Mother Nature looks to crank up the oven yet another notch next week? Perhaps some Edgar Allen Poe to start the day? Raven, when shall this infernal heat and humidity, these storms that plague us every day, when shall they ever cease? Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore!"

Tomorrow will feature more showers and thunderstorms in Middle Tennessee, with highs in the mid 80s to low 90s. Some locations could see triple digit heat indices so remember to be safe if working outdoors and drink plenty of water.

GOOD MORNING!

Heat and humidity continue to grip Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky, with feels-like temps reaching 100–105°. A Heat Advisory is in effect from noon to 7 p.m.

Scattered storms are possible late afternoon into early evening, starting along the KY/TN state line.. then pushing southward. Some could turn severe, bringing gusty winds and localized flooding.

'Pretty Little Baby' singer Connie Francis has died, aged 87.

Connie's death was confirmed by her friend Ron Robert, who shared on Facebook: "It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night.

"I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news."

This morning, showers and thunderstorms will develop along the Kentucky/Tennessee state line, but they’ll quickly diminish as we head into late morning. This afternoon, expect a mix of sun and clouds, with temperatures climbing into the low to mid-90s. It'll feel more like 100–101° for much of the afternoon.

Locations closer to Land Between the Lakes will feel closer to 104.

It's not that the forecast itself is tricky. I mean, it's basically the same forecast every day with only minor variations. That's the easy part. The trick is to make it interesting enough to post about day after day after day. What to do? Hmm. Let's do what Sir Elton John would do in this situation and gift the weather peeps with a song. You can tell everybody this is your song. It may be quite simple, but now that it's done, I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind, that I put down in words, how sweltering life is while it's summertime.
