Beech Creek – Darrell Ray Fleming, 88, of Beech Creek, died Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Heartford House in Owensboro, Kentucky. Mr. Fleming was born August 17, 1937 in Dunmor, Kentucky. He was retired from Supervalue, and he was of the Baptist faith. Darrell was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed 4-wheeler riding, having breakfast at Hardee’s and at Wayne’s Place. He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Fleming; his parents, Veachel Fleming and Nell Chapman Fleming; and his sisters, Betty Addison, and Wanda Hamilton.

He is survived by his son, Randy Fleming; his daughter, Vickie Bradley; his granddaughters, Holly Cummings, and Darci Walker; his great-granddaughters, Madison Walker, and Sophia Cummings; his great-grandson, Bradley Walker; his sisters, Geraldine Williams, and Edna Moss; and his brothers, Marvin (Burr) Fleming, Larry Fleming, and Barry Fleming.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00a.m. at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home in Beechmont, with Bro. Tom Carroll, Bro. Derrick Benton, and Bro. Darrin Benton officiating. Burial in Mud River Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., and Saturday after 8:00a.m. at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. BREMEN – Jearl Lynn Dunn, 70, of Bremen, died on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 5:25AM in Morgantown. Mr. Dunn was born on April 11, 1956 in Owensboro. He was a member of Clear Fork Baptist Church and he worked in Masonry. He enjoyed working and tinkering at the shop. He was very crafty. He liked to fish, he enjoyed all kinds of racing and fast cars, and was known as a “Pool Shark”. He was preceded in death by his mother, Retha Coke; father, Robert Dunn; daughter, Stephanie Dunn; and brother, Rodney Dunn.

He is survived by his children, Jason (Emma) Dunn, Melissa (John) Wells, Heather (C.J.) Givens, Lindsey (Jonathan) Barks, and Hannah (Ethan) Dunn; sisters, Brenda Dunn, Trenda (Aaron) Basham, and Mylinda Dunn; and ten grandchildren.

GRANITE CITY, IL - Dustin Eric Marsala, 42, of Granite City, IL, died on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at his residence. Mr. Marsala was born October 7, 1983 in Granite City, IL. He worked in Construction. He was preceded in death by his father, David Marsala; brother, Derek Marsala; and grandparents, Vincent and Dorothy Marsala, and John and Ruby Risinger.

He is survived by his children, Dalton Marsala, Olivia Marsala, and Brennan Marsala; mother, Kathy Marsala; sister, Kandi Marsala; and brother, Rocky (Megan) Marsala.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 1PM at Abundant Life Pentecostal Church in Central City with Michael Risinger officiating. Burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. GREENVILLE --- Wanda French, 77, of Greenville, KY passed away on Sunday, May 31st, 2026 surrounded by her family at the Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. She was born in Madisonville, KY on December 16th, 1948, the daughter of the late William Thomas Bearden and Ruth Distin Bearden. A devoted member of Browder United Methodist Church for 73 years, she lived her faith through service, kindness, and generosity. She loved spending time fishing and was gifted in quilting, sewing, and various crafts. She especially enjoyed making handmade angels, selling them to raise money for the United Methodist Children’s Home. Her caring nature and servant’s heart touched countless lives throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Patrick Blohm, one step-daughter, Karen French, and two brothers, Mike Bearden and Billy Bearden.

Funeral services will be held at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY on Friday, June 5th, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Shaun Vickery. Burial will follow at Browder’s Church Cemetery in Madisonville, KY.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years --- Charles Robert French Jr.

CENTRAL CITY - Phillip “Phil” Foster Burden, 75, of Central City, died Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 9:50 a.m. at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born August 3, 1950 in Greenville. He graduated from Bremen High School, and later worked for himself in the Timber and Coal Industry. He enjoyed golf, Kentucky basketball, grilling, mowing, and many outdoor activities. He liked watching Western movies and listening to Gospel music. Spending time with his family was the most important thing to him. He was preceded in death by his father, O.V. Burden; mother, Inez Burden; brother, Barry Burden; and sister, Joan Mitchell. Survivors include his wife, Shelia “Jeanie” Burden; sons, Brent Burden, and Joey Burden; daughter, Amanda Mitchell; grandsons, Taegan Mitchell, Trenton Burden, Eastan Mitchell and Keelan Mitchell; sisters, Lannie Lear, and Debbie Strehl; and brother, Tony Burden. Benton - Lisa Lorene Laycock-Burch, 60 passed away Monday, May 11, 2026. Born in Muhlenberg County April 8, 1966 to James David Laycock and Jane Thomas Gossett. She graduated from Central City High School class of 1984. Even though Lisa always called Central City home, she spent the last several years of her life living at KY Lake. She enjoyed making arts, crafts, truly enjoyed attending the Festival “Hippie Daze” and event held every year where she made friends and truly lived her best “Hippie Lift” of Peach, Love and Music as she always said, “Music is Life” as long as it was anything from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s era with some of her favorites being Elvis “Literally ALL Elvis Songs”, Janis Joplin “Me and Boggy McGee”, and an all time favoite, Dr. Hooks “Cover of the Rolling Stone”. During her time at the Lake, she made friends that became like family to her over the years Kristie Kiolmer Cordes, her husband and two sons Devin & Jacob LeeLee will always love and miss you. She is proceeded in death by her best friend and husband Jamey Ray Burch, mother Jane Thomas Gossett, father James David Laycock, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Columbus Gossett, Mr. and Mrs Charlie Laycock and brother Jim “Brother” Laycock. Survivors include her daughter, Alice Loy of Western, KY., son Jeremiah Loy of Washington, stepson Matt Burch of Western, KY., brother Dennis (Judy) Laycock of Western, KY., two nephews Cameron (Marla) Laycock of Western, KY., and Kyler Laycock of Ohio and niece Emily (Jeff) Jones of Western, KY. Along with several other family and friends. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at a location at Kentucky Lake in honor of her memory at a later date. Currently, the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with a
leaking petroleum line in the area of KY 175 South, between Bards Hill
Road and US Highway 62 W. The Graham Fire Department initially
responded to a report of a large fire in the area, which was
determined to be a petroleum line on fire.

At approximately 12:19 PM, the Sheriff's Office was requested to
assist in evacuating residents in the immediate affected location.
Please be advised that this section of Highway 175 S will remain
closed until further notice.

Multiple agencies are currently on the scene assisting with the
incident, including Muhlenberg County Emergency Management, Muhlenberg
County EMS, Air Quality Control, and representatives from BP.

HARTFORD- Jeannette Joines Hickerson, 89, of Hartford died Friday, May 29, 2026 at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Hickerson was born in Evansville, IN on January 10, 1926 in Evansville, IN. She was a salon owner and a member of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hickerson is preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Hickerson; parents, Norman and Mary Joines; brother, Harold Ray Joines.



Survivors include her son, James (Michelle) Hickerson, and a grandson, Graham Hickerson.

BEECHMONT - Faith Denee Slaughter, 75, of Beechmont, died Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 6:11PM at her residence. Ms. Slaughter was born in Muleshoe, TX on December 20, 1950. She was a member of Hortons Chapel Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Slaughter; and parents, Everett and Naomi Talley.

She is survived by her two step-children, Kimberly Ann Slaughter of La Grange, TN, and Holly Gail Goodwin of Mt. Juliet, TN; one step- grandchild, Mollie Marie Goodwin; and cousins, Carl Sneed, Kermit Keeton, and Melba Scott.

WILLIAM DOTSON BEADNELL 77

GREENVILLE --- William Dotson Beadnell (Billy), 77, passed away on Wednesday, May 27th, 2026 at Riverside Manor Health and Rehab in Calhoun, KY. He was born on December 29th, 1948. He graduated from Graham High School in 1966 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. He worked as an underground coal miner for more than 30 years as a pinner. He was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed spending his free time fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dotson and Ann Beadnell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30th, at 2:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY, officiated by Bro. George Wunderlich. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Greenville KY with military honors.

He is survived by his of 28 years wife --- Novella Sue Beadnell
