Cleveland Metropolitan School District opened its online portal to allow families to pick schools for next year 📚

New CMSD students, eighth graders, and students whose schools are closing as part of the district’s recently passed school merger plan will all need to make a choice through the online portal.

The city’s Snow Heroes program pairs Clevelanders with older adults or those with disabilities to make sure their pathways stay clear and safe this winter season.

-Matches will be within a 1 mile radius
-Volunteers will bring their own shovel/equipment
-Groups are encouraged to apply

Due to the anticipated low temperatures the City of Cleveland will open Warming Centers on Thursday, January 1, 2026 from 11:30am – 10:00pm.

On Friday, January 2, 2026, recreation centers will resume normal operations from 11:30am - 8:00pm.

The Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame is looking to open its doors in 2026. It took the help of some big partnerships to bring the Hall of Fame to its location at Urban Community School.

George Murphy was having dinner with his family at Morton’s Steakhouse when he suffered a heart attack. Murphy’s family says that’s when bystanders immediately started CPR until emergency crews arrived.

Cleveland Fire and EMS arrived, took over CPR from bystanders, and took Murphy to MetroHealth where medical teams worked to save his life.

TV20 was there when George and his family had the chance to meet the first responders and doctors, to say thank you.
