Last week Eastside Elementary welcomed back their former 5th grade students from last school year to celebrate their success on their state assessment at the MAAP Champions event. These students all made 4’s or 5’s on their state assessment at the end of the 2024-25 school year. Current 6th grade students were bussed from Lovett to Eastside and welcomed into the loving arms of their former teachers, administrators, and schoolmates. They paraded down the 5th grade halls receiving cheers, hand made pictures, and words of encouragement. Afterwards they were treated to a breakfast in the cafeteria. Congratulations to all Lovett 6th graders that scored proficient or advanced on their MAAP test!!!!

Join us on Saturday, September 13, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, for a community volunteer day. We’ll be working together on a variety of projects, including cleanup, planting, sign washing, and painting. Please wear clothing suitable for outdoor work, and if you have garden tools, bring them along. Groups are welcome—leaders can contact us at 601-924-5472 or [email protected] to coordinate. Last week Eastside Elementary celebrated their MAAP Champions!! These students all made 4’s or 5’s on their state assessment at the end of the 2024-25 school year. Current 5th grade students paraded down the 4th grade halls receiving cheers, hand made pictures, and words of encouragement. Afterwards they were treated to a breakfast in the cafeteria. The JPS-Hinds Early Learning Collaborative recently voted to add Funtime Pre-School Clinton as a new partner. Funtime Pre-School Clinton joins Jackson Public Schools, the Hinds County Human Resource Agency, Little Saints Academy, and the Lottie Thornton Early Childhood Center at Jackson State University to provide nationally recognized, high-quality pre-K education in Hinds County.
