“Turner B. Goes to NYC” was our first project over here at Lucky Rabbit. This time two years ago Annette was madly scrolling through SCBWI portfolios looking for the right artist to illustrate a puppy showing his friends and the readers around New York City. We wanted a modern classic look with an air of “Madeline” to it. turned out to be the right person to bring book to life. In a full- circle moment this last week, Norman and his wife had their first post-baby date night out in Portland to see this adorable book win a silver medal for Best First Book at IBPA Awards. We’re proud of the quality work we endeavor to do at Lucky Rabbit and this week we’re especially proud of this, our first book award!

Tayler Simon of Liberation is Lit is a bookstore owner, writer, poet, artist, and she’s a movement. She keeps us updated on the latest on book bans and news on the women’s health battles going on at the State House. She pops up at Soda City, First Thursdays on Main and a multitude of events around town. Look out for her yellow and black logo whenever you’re at an event that matters. She was so gracious and participated in the first Lucky Rabbit Book Talk. We asked her about a book she’s reading, one that’s coming up on her reading list and, of course, a children book she likes! THANK YOU, Tayler.
