In January 2024, three members of a C**n Rapids family — Shannon Patricia Jungwirth (42), her husband Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada (39), and their son Jorge Alexander Reyes-Jungwirth (20) — were killed inside their home during what police call a violent home invasion. Two young children were inside the house at the time and survived.

Surveillance footage shows Alonzo Mingo and two accomplices pulling up in a vehicle and two of them wearing clothing resembling UPS delivery uniforms. They carried a cardboard box to gain entry, appearing to pose as package delivery drivers.

The primary change is the broadening of the definition of “gravely disabled,” one of the three legal reasons a person can be held against their will (alongside being a danger to self or a danger to others).

New Diagnoses Included: Involuntary holds can now be initiated for individuals with severe substance use disorder or chronic alcoholism, even without a co-occurring mental health disorder.

This change to the 5150 law allows for involuntary treatment for up to 30 days if individuals cannot meet basic needs or ensure their safety.

Jonathan Nunez Arrested in Alleged Highway Encampment Assault, Linked to Church Vandalism

SAN JOSÉ — San José police arrested a man in connection with a violent assault near Highway 101 and a separate felony vandalism at a local place of worship, authorities said.

Officers responded around 10:14 a.m. on Dec. 27, 2025, to reports of a disturbance involving a weapon near Tully Road and Highway 101, adjacent to an encampment by the off-ramp. Police said an adult male suspect struck an adult male victim in the head with a metal pole. The victim was found with life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was later stabilized.

Investigators identified the suspect as Jonathan Nunez. Police also determined Nunez was wanted in connection with a felony vandalism that occurred on Dec. 24, 2025, at a place of worship in the 1300 block of East Santa Clara Street. Authorities said the suspect entered a Christmas Eve service and punched a glass window, causing an estimated $20,000 in damage.

On December 27, 2025, at approximately 10:14 AM, Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a weapon in the area of Tully Road and Highway 101, near an encampment adjacent to the highway off-ramp. An adult male suspect struck an adult male victim in the head with a metal pole.
Upon arrival, Officers located the victim with life threatening injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital and later stabilized.
Patrol Officers identified the suspect responsible for the incident as Jonathan Nunez.
Officers discovered the suspect was also wanted for a felony vandalism that occurred on December 24, 2025, at a place of worship located in the 1300.

🚨 This is a problem everywhere not just San Jose California.
These thieves are using technology to beat technology. They are able to find the signal that comes from your key fob in the house.
Care Companies need to do better and install software on vehicles to prevent this.
Sometimes I feel the same people that invent new tech also invent ways around it. Most cars installed security systems fall short and really do little. Consider an after market security system that has glass breaking tech.
Be careful who installs it. When I once was investigating these crimes it turned out to be the shop installing them.
Thieves appear to use relay attacks to break into cars in San Jose Ca.

🚨 This incident shows a
textbook example of a police pursuit being safely brought to an end using a PIT maneuver. The officer executed the technique effectively, stopping the suspect's vehicle and preventing the chase from continuing. Body-camera footage captures the moment the suspect tried to flee during the high-speed pursuit. After the PIT maneuver disabled the vehicle, the suspect exited and jumped off the roadway, but officers with the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department located and arrested him minutes later.

The Sacramento Police Department is seeking the public’s help with locating Camron Lee, who is wanted for the alleged murder of Angelica Bravo and the kidnapping of her two children.

Lee was seen driving a Honda Passport that crossed into Mexico. Police found the vehicle unoccupied in Ensenada. They have said he also has ties to Southern California.

SJPD Arrests Two More Suspects for Kim Hung Jewelry Store

On September 5, 2025, at approximately 2:05 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a violent armed robbery that occurred at Kim Hung Jewelry in the 1900 block of Aborn Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that over ten suspects forced entry into the business by ramming a vehicle through the front door.

Once inside, one of the suspects brandished a firearm at one adult male victim inside the business, while a second elderly adult male victim was violently assaulted. The suspects stole thousands of dollars' worth of items from the store before fleeing the scene in multiple vehicles.

95 MPH after attempting to run people over in a restaurant parking lot. The driver was stopped by Patrol officers and arrested for ADW and DUI.

A shootout took place at 43 Río Ebro Street, in the Cuauhtémoc neighborhood of Mexico City, during an operation against extortion. Six people were arrested, and one police officer was wounded by gunfire.

Hundreds of police officers were aided by a police helicopter, also known as the “Condor,” during the search for the gunmen.
