🚨 San Jose Police Great arrest
SJPD Arrests Suspect for 2016 Homicide On June 27, 2016, at
approximately 9:20 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 1700 block of Cape Aston Court in the city of San José. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary information revealed the victim was traveling in a vehicle when the suspects, who had been lying in wait, ambushed him after he came to a stop. At least one suspect exited a vehicle and shot the victim. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Detectives identified several suspects responsible for the incident. Myung Kim was later identified as one of the primary suspects and was believed to have orchestrated the killing.
Investigators suspected
Suspect Kim fled the country.
Despite multiple attempts to locate him, Suspect Kim was never found.
Suspect Kim is believed to have entered a U.S. Embassy in the country of Laos to inquire about travel documentation. Without a current extradition treaty in place with the country of Laos, the suspect freely left the embassy.

SJPD detectives were notified of Suspect Kim's location.
Following high level diplomatic cooperation from the U.S.
Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security in Vientiane and Laos authorities, with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice, Office of International Affairs, Laotian authorities arrested Suspect Kim for immigration violations.
SJPD Homicide Detectives took custody of Suspect Kim on June 10, 2026 and transported him back to the city of San José where he was ultimately booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for murder.

Roswell Police Press Release Re: Amanda Katz Arrest

The Roswell Police Department (RPD) has arrested and charged 55-year-old Amanda Katz, a former teacher and administrative assistant at Roswell High School, with alleged Improper Sexual Contact by an Employee or Agent.

RPD began an investigation into Katz earlier this year after receiving a DFCS referral alleging misconduct involving a student of the high school. Katz resigned while detectives looked into the allegations. That investigation determined that Katz sexually assaulted a 16-year-old student during multiple off-site encounters between 2025 and 2026. Detectives secured a warrant for Katz’s arrest, and she was taken into custody on June 2.

SJPD Arrests Suspect for Multiple Sexual Batteries
On March 19, 2026, at approximately 9:40
PM, San
José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a sexual battery that occurred at a mall parking lot located in the 2800 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The adult female survivor was walking to her car when an adult male suspect approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her over her clothing.
The survivor fell to the ground as she fought the suspect away. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The survivor sustained non-life threatening injuries from the attack and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
SJPD Sexual Assaults
Investigation Unit Detectives began a thorough investigation and identified the primary suspect as Josiah Adorno.
During the investigation, Detectives discovered that Suspect Adorno was responsible for two similar sexual batteries that occurred in the city of San José.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect.

On May 26, 2026, with the assistance of the
SJPD Covert Response Unit and Patrol Officers, Detectives located and
apprehended Suspect Adorno in the city of San José. Suspect Adorno was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for multiple crimes including false imprisonment and felony sexual battery.
Due to the nature of the crime, Detectives believe there may be additional survivors.

SJPD Arrests Suspect for Assault with a Deadly Weapon
On April 11, 2026, at approximately 11:28 AM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in the 4100 block of The Woods Drive. The adult male suspect and adult male victim were in an altercation when the
suspect, who was armed with a firearm, began striking the victim multiple times. The victim attempted to flee, but was restrained and repeatedly assaulted by the suspect. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment for injuries later determined to be non-life threatening.
SJPD Assaults Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation into the incident and identified the primary suspect as John Torres Jr.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Suspect Torres and a search warrant for his associated residence in the city of San José.
On June 3, 2026, while the
SJPD Covert Response Unit attempted to serve the warrants, Suspect Torres barricaded inside a residence located in the area of Alum Rock Avenue and Dale Drive and refused to comply with commands. The SJPD Special Operations Unit responded to the scene to facilitate and ensure a safe surrender.
Special Operations personnel successfully persuaded
Suspect Torres to exit the residence. The suspect was taken into custody and was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for multiple crimes including assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.
Due to the violent nature of the crime, Detectives believe there may be additional victims.

We will never forget!

These are my cousins, Robert Gonzales Sr. and Alfredo Benavidez Sr. and my cousin Chato’s Uncle Willie Peña and Uncle Eduardo De Leon.

82 years ago today, during World War II, they were all four in the U.S. Army. Robert, Alfredo, and Willie landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, as part of the Allied invasion of Europe. Eduardo was a fighter plane pilot escorting B-17 bombers.

By sunset, the Allies had suffered 10,000 casualties.

Nevertheless, these brave men faced and overcame insurmountable odds during the battle but won the battle that eventually led to the defeat of N**i Germany.

Willie lost his left arm from N**i artillery fire during the battle.
Thankfully, doctors saved his life. After the war, he attended the University of Texas, graduated, and became a high school teacher.

Robert and Alfredo were in different units during the landings and never saw each other throughout the war in Europe.

After the N**is surrendered, instead of going home, both Robert and Alfredo’s units were sent to Okinawa to fight the Japanese and prepare for "Operation Downfall," the planned invasion of mainland Japan and by chance, they ran into each other.

As the US was preparing for Operation Downfall – the invasion of the Japanese mainland – in 1945, American military planners estimated that it would cost them anywhere between 400,000 and 4 million American dead and wounded casualties, so they began stockpiling Purple Hearts, up to 500,000 of them.

Thankfully, Japan eventually surrendered, and all four were able to return home.

Please accept my thanks for your bravery, Cousins Robert, Alfredo, Willie, Uncle Eduardo, and all your fellow soldiers.

God bless you all, and may you Rest In Peace.
