HIM is finally out in theatres….what to say….
What a lot of people don’t know about me, is I grew up around so much music.
I had battle decks set up in my room, learning to scratch, while at the same time learning classical guitar, sampling and making beats on an MPC1000, playing in punk and metal bands, and learning about the avant garde conceptualism of Alvin Lucier and John Cage for my degree
All that to say, the music of HIM is music I have been waiting my whole life to make.
I’m so proud of this score, and so proud I got to turn it into songs, producing and writing with some of my favourite and greatest rappers and musicians of this generation.
this all starts with you, my brother. A collaborator and leader in the truest sense. The way you approached and executed this whole project was the biggest inspiration. Never have I felt so empowered and bolstered to be me 🌹
you and the whole team - you guys are steering this ship so delightfully differently. I feel like I’ve made family for life. Art first, always 🤘🏼
and at Universal - your support and friendship through this whole process is unparalleled.
Even when I thought I was making the most off-piste decisions, you guys embraced it, empowered and supported the vision. I was able to grow so much as a musician and collaborator on this film, largely due to your unwavering support ❤️
A score like this takes an army, and I would be nowhere without my amazing team and collaborators:
Go watch and listen to HIM asap! 🌹🏈🌹
