The Philadelphia Flyers and Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education celebrated the life and legacy of Flyers legend and Hockey Hall of Fame member Bernie Parent on Nov. 21 at the Xfinity Mobile Arena. The program included a presentation by Council President Kenyatta Johnson of a resolution from the city of Philadelphia recognizing the Flyers goaltender for his outstanding contributions to the sport of hockey and the Philadelphia community. Additionally, Johnson pledged a $5,000 donation to Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education, which will be matched 2:1 by the Snider Foundation for a grand total of $15,000 in Bernie’s honor. […]

Through the sport of volleyball, Maggie Carcillo’s family keeps expanding. Carcillo, who has lived near the stadiums of South Philadelphia since she was 11, had traveled quite the road in sports and life.
