🎙️ Episode 1: "Service, Strength, and Small-Town Roots" — Featuring Charles “Rusty” Russell Merritt

For the inaugural episode of Empowered Ability, I sit down with Charles Russell Merritt—lovingly known as Rusty, a.k.a. my dad. Rusty’s journey is one defined by dedication and service. He served in the United States Marine Corps, retired from the U.S. Coast Guard, and went on to protect and lead his hometown community of Kenansville, North Carolina.

From his early days as a Sheriff’s Deputy in Duplin County to his role as Chief of Police of the Kenansville Police Department, Rusty shares stories of resilience, integrity, and the lessons learned through a lifetime of service.
