Ferris Bueller said it best - “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” So today we're marking 100 projects in the can, spread across film, TV, ads, music clips, shorts, live events and more, which we hit at the end of 2024.

One hundred projects is no mean feat. Since our inception, NantStudios has always aimed to try new things, refine the technology and introduce more people to it, whilst ensuring creativity comes first.

We're proud of the experiences we've given each and every person who's walked through the doors of either our El Segundo or Melbourne studios.

And we're especially proud to have found such a talented, innovative team that genuinely care as much about your project as you do.

So here's to the next 100! We're excited to see what we get to sink our teeth into next..

Wake up, Will... The Matrix has you.

Well, Virtual Production does, at least.

NantStudios' El Segundo volume morphed into the Matrix to help Will Smith tell the story of (one of) his biggest regrets, turning down the role of Neo. The production came together in about 2 weeks, and was created by same Directors and DoP that worked with Will on the Bad Boys films.

Our LED recreated five iconic sets from the film: the Pill Room, the White Room, the Dojo, the Rooftop and the Highway, all designed by Hologen in record time.

The production team also set up a mobile volumetric capture rig behind Volume 1 for those awesome bullet time sequences, meaning everything could be captured in just one day.

When you picture an automotive ad, you'd likely picture a long, winding highway, with streetlights racing over a vehicle as it speeds past the camera.

You probably wouldn't picture a stationary car in a fairly static scene. But that is exactly what Clockwork Films delivered alongside our Australian volume team for Audi's Open Haus Sale Event. And the results spoke for themselves; 1.8 million engaged viewers with an impressive completion rate.

The cars are the true heroes here. No bright colors or fast moving patterns; the NantStudios LED volume provides a soft, dreamy background that mimics a sunrise, and perfectly matches the slow movement of the camera around the car.

But while the shots are slow, the production certainly wasn't. VP was the key factor that allowed Director Jolyon Watkins and his team to deliver an important sales announcement in just 2 weeks. NantStudios' art team designed and built the minimalist 3D environment in 4 days, while everything was captured in just one day on set.

Now that's a bargain worthy of its own sales event.

Resorts World Las Vegas, Psyop, and Hooray Agency visited our Unreal Engine-powered innovation campus in El Segundo, CA to utilize our new state-of-the-art in-camera visual effects (ICVFX) volume and services for their latest promotional campaign, featuring the talents of , , , , , and . Filmed entirely in-camera utilizing real-time LED backgrounds, the NantStudios team pioneered and leveraged new techniques to accomplish some of the production challenges. Juan Nader is a pioneer in innovation and developing technologies who has spent over nine years in the entertainment industry, both in the United Kingdom and the United States.

He’s had the opportunity to work in movies like Star Wars Episode VII and work multiple times with actors like Andy Serkis and Benedict Cumberbatch. In the last few years, Nader has focused on integrating hardware and software in complex scenarios for use in Virtual production. As part of his journey, he has worked in Virtual Production stages that have seen the likes of The Mandalorian (Season 2) and currently unreleased productions.

As the Supervisor of Virtual Production Engineering at NantStudios, he oversees the seamless integration of all equipment in a cohesive workflow, so that our customers can focus on creating without letting technology get in the way.
