Para dressage rider Hannah Kingsley knows firsthand that life can change in an instant. A veterinarian from North Dakota, Hannah grew up riding horses and competing in a variety of disciplines before finding her way to para dressage following a cerebellar brain bleed, cerebral sepsis and a stroke in 2021. Today, with her horse Eragon VF, aka Danny, Hannah is pursuing her dream of representing the U.S. on the international stage as she works toward earning a spot on the World Championships team.

On Saturday, McLain Ward and Supersox ter Ledonck tore through the timers to win the $30,000 Salamander Collection American Standard Grand Prix at the Upperville C**t & Horse Show presented by MARS Equestrian™.

Now the spotlight shifts to today, where he returns aboard First Lady with a real shot at the $200,000 FEI/CSI 4* Upperville Jumper Classic. The question is simple: can anyone catch him, or is he just getting started?

Looking forward to an incredible day for our friends at Upperville! 🫶The Therapeutic Equine Celebration returns to the Parker Ring on Saturday at 12:45 pm at the Upperville Horse Show presented by MARS Equestrian!

Cloverleaf Equine Center, Loudoun Therapeutic Riding, Rainbow Therapeutic Riding Center, Sprout Therapeutic Riding & Education Center, and Wheatland Farm Para‑Equestrian will gather under the oaks with the horses and students who shape their programs every day.

There is something remarkable about the way horses steady people, lift them, and help them grow. You can see it in the way a rider settles into the saddle, in the patience of a good horse, and in the quiet confidence that builds with every ride, and we hope you will be there to cheer them on!

Congratulations to Sue Lyman and Kensington Court on their victory in the inaugural $25,000 Upperville Thoroughbred Hunter Derby! Sue and “Kenny”, a former winning steeplechase horse for Middleburg trainer Julie Gomena and Oakwood Stable, rose to the top of a stacked field of 57 horses to secure the win on a final score of 173!
