Texas House Democrat and pastor James Talarico suggests that the Bible supports abortion, stating that there is no Biblical basis for Christians to be anti-abortion.

"So this idea that to be a Christian means you have to be anti gay and anti abortion... There really is no historical, theological, or biblical basis for that opinion."

When confronted about flood warnings and sirens being released prior to the floodings in Kerrville and Central Texas, President Trump refused to point the finger and shift the blame towards any officials.

The President stated that it was a once in a lifetime disaster and that officials and public servants have done a tremendous job handing the disaster and rescue efforts.

He went on to tell the reporter who asked about accountability of those in charge of the camp and the surrounding area that "only an evil person" would ask a question like that.

Do you agree with the president? Is now the time to start pointing the finger, or should Texans only be concerned about search and rescue efforts?

Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation earlier today declaring Sunday, July 6, 2025, as a Day of Prayer in Texas in response to the devastating floods that swept through Central Texas and the Hill Country over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Abbott released the following statement:

“Texans are known for their faith, strength, and resilience,” said Governor Abbott. “Even as floodwaters raged, neighbors rushed in to rescue, comfort, and bring hope. In times of loss, we turn to God for comfort, healing, and strength. I urge every Texan to join me in prayer this Sunday—for the lives lost, for those still missing, for the recovery of our communities, and for the safety of those on the front lines.”

Governor Abbott encourages all Texans to pause in reflection and prayer this Sunday, July 6, and to seek God's wisdom, peace, and mercy in this time of need for so many Texas families.

Late last night, Governor Abbott vetoed Senate Bill 3, the bill that would ban the sell and use of THC products in the state of Texas.

Governor Abbott released the following statement regarding his decision to block the bill from being signed into law:

"Texans on each side of the Senate Bill3 debate raise serious concerns. But one thing is clear-to ensure the highest level of safety for minors, as well as for adults, who obtain a product more dangerous than what they expected, Texas must strongly regulate h**p, and it must do so immediately.

Senate Bill 3 is well-intentioned. But it would never go into effect because of valid constitutional challenges. Litigation challenging the bill has already been filed, and the legal defects in he billar undeniable. If I were to allow Senate Bill 3 to become law, its enforcement would be enjoined for years, leaving existing abuses unaddressed. Texas cannot afford to wait."
