Founded in 1999 by David Grow and Kim Pawlik, Howling Music is a music production company specializing in creating original music for television commercials. We have scored many hundreds of national and international spots working with many of the top advertising agencies in the world. Our clients have included Nike, BMW, Chevy, Yamaha, Toyota, Hyundai, Colgate, Mercedes, Volkswagen, ESPN, Kia, Fo

rd, and Mini Cooper, among many others. We are an artist-based company which means we work closely with a wide array of some of the most compelling and sought-after artists, producers and songwriters in the industry. This ensures our music is always fresh, very original and never sticks to expected formulas. Our name comes from our owner's dog, Bogart, who would frequently howl when David's band would rehearse. We're not sure if Bogart liked the music or hated it but the name stuck.

For our Retrorama Label, we're working on some authentic 1920's music in the style of Sydney Bechet. Sound recordings were in their infancy in the 1920s but the music was very grown up. Ragtime, European, Classical and Blues all influenced this unique era of music.

Introducing another new dog at Howling Music, our very own executive producer Marc Mannino. Marc is a debonair music industry pro that hails from the great state of New Jersey. Marc’s seen it all. No literally, he’s seen it all; he’s personally attended every major music festival in the continental US and is a regular at every LA music venue. Marc is an avid trainer, a cultural savant, and a people person. When he’s not seeing live music, you can find Marc hiking the California wilderness while walking on his hands, reading up on 18th century culinary practices, and studying the nuances of Netflix programming.

We’re thrilled to introduce Howling’s newest Executive Producer, Cole MacKinnon. Hailing from the Great White North (Canada), Cole sets a new bar for niceness around the office. Is it an act? We’re not completely sure. He’s travelled the world as a performer and despite his warm demeanor and devoted appreciation for tea, been mistaken for a hitman. From an early age, Cole was destined to be a rockstar, but after touring the nation, getting arrested at a fireworks show, and mysteriously waking up with a shaved head, he realized he had checked all the boxes. Since then, Cole has worked with a variety of agencies and composers from all around the world. We’re pretty sure the hitman thing is a misunderstanding, but we try to stay on his good side just in case.
