Donuts and I have a complicated history.

Back in the day, I worked in a bakery… and long story short, I came way too close to losing my eyesight because of donuts.

Fast forward to me in uniform and here I was… fulfilling every cop stereotype one bite at a time 🍩👮‍♂️

Life’s funny like that. Sometimes the things you’ve got the strangest history with end up becoming part of the joke.

Eat the donut. Respect the donut. Never trust the donut.

Today was a really special closing day.

Not only did my clients officially close on their beautiful new home, but these clients are also dear friends, which made getting to be part of this chapter even more meaningful.

Both have a heart for service, showing up for others, protecting our country and community as well as answering the call when people needed help most. It’s pretty special to see a couple who have given so much to others now step into a home that brings their own family so much joy.

Watching them smile and seeing how excited they were walking through the house reminded me why I love this job.

Thank you both for trusting me through this process and allowing me to help guide such an important milestone. I never take that trust lightly.

Congratulations, friends. You’ve earned this next chapter, and I can’t wait to see the memories your family creates here. 🏡 ❤️

🚨 RENTAL SCAM ALERT — Don’t send money before you verify 🏠
We’re seeing this happen way too often.
Scammers steal photos from legitimate listings, repost homes for rent at attractive prices, then pressure people to send deposits before ever seeing the property.
Here are some quick ways to protect yourself:
• If the price seems too good to be true, slow down.
• Never send deposits, application fees, or security money before verifying ownership.
• See the property in person (or have someone you trust do it).
• Search the address online, if it appears for sale and for rent at the same time, ask questions.
• Verify who owns or manages the property.
• Be cautious if they refuse to meet, say they’re “out of town,” or can only communicate by text.
• Don’t trust screenshots or fake leases as proof.
• Use secure payment methods, avoid wire transfers, gift cards, Zelle to strangers, or crypto.
• Ask for a live video walkthrough with real-time interaction if you can’t visit.
• When possible, work with a licensed real estate professional or verified property manager.
One of the biggest red flags:
“Send the deposit now so nobody else takes it.”
Pressure is part of the scam.

There’s something special about handing someone the keys to more than just a house. It’s helping them find a place where memories will be made, milestones will be celebrated, and dreams can continue to grow.
