Sun Valley Magazine is the result of a commitment to celebrating life and its many facets here in the Wood River Valley in Central Idaho as paradise, we are not immune to the challenges that affect the outside world, nor, are we critical of the lifestyles of those “less fortunates” who don’t call this Valley home. But everyone needs reminding sometimes of the reasons they live anywhere and it is o

ur position at this magazine that this is our raison de’etres. It gets us up everyday and out asking “Tell me something I don’t know . . .” asking the movers and shakers as well as the workers and families who let us in so we can fill you in on the stories that are the fabric of our life here. Our goal is to break down the barriers, open eyes, occasionally bring tears, but to always leave a mark on your memory. Our hope is that if you live here too, or just love it here like we do, then some aspect of our magazine resonates. We don’t claim to be all things to all people, but we are a magazine of the people and written for the people of the Wood River Valley and beyond. It’s a responsibility we take seriously. And it’s one we work hard to perpetuate through all of our publications be it the summer, fall, or winter edition of the coffee table-worthy Sun Valley Magazine, or our fine dining feature magazine, Taste of Sun Valley. We’ve created Golf and Hockey magazines for those sports fans and also tackle projects in our custom publishing division that don’t conflict with our mission and high standards, but which allow us to keep bringing you the quality photography and writing that keeps readers coming back. Although a locally-based magazine, we don’t shy from regional stories—in fact our publications are sold nationally in more than 400 locations nationwide, notably the Boise Airport and Salt Lake International Airport, Borders, Barnes & Noble, Hastings, Waldenbooks and regional Albertson’s markets, as well as Atkinsons' Markets and local bookstores and gift shops. It is Wednesday and if you’re looking to soak up the absolute best of late summer in the Wood River Valley, today's local lineup has you completely covered. From afternoon market runs to mid-week mountain bike rides followed by live music under the peaks, today offers the perfect blend of local community culture and outdoor recreation.

Your Local Itinerary:
✨ 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Ketchum Farmers Market: Head down to Forest Service Park (131 River St. E) for the weekly market. Grab fresh high-country produce, local flowers, artisan breads, and savory snacks while supporting our regional growers and makers.
✨ 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM | River Run Summer Series: After the market, roll over to the River Run base area. Enjoy extended lift-assisted biking and hiking up Baldy (gondola runs until 7 PM), then stick around for live music from High Pine Whiskey Yell, food trucks, lawn games, and cold drinks on the patio. Tonight's event supports local non-profits Idaho Basecamp and the YMCA!

It is Friday, July 31st, and just like that… we are turning the final page on an absolutely unforgettable month in the Wood River Valley.

July delivered everything we love about living in the Intermountain West: crisp alpine mornings, sun-drenched trails, long al fresco dinners on downtown patios, and dark, starry nights under some of the clearest skies in the country.

From putting our brand-new Summer 2026 Issue onto newsstands, getting SV Weddings out into the wild, celebrating Sun Valley Resort’s historic designation as the nation’s first DarkSky Approved Resort, and the start of the Symphony, this month reminded us why our mountain home is truly one of a kind.
