A Cement City man was one of two people killed in a fiery head-on crash in southern Jackson County, Wednesday Morning. The crash occurred around 11:30 on US 127 near Loomis Road in Liberty Township. Michigan’s legislature avoided a prolonged government shutdown early Wednesday by passing a one-week continuation budget to keep state operations running.
