Langston Magnet School Groundbreaking Ceremony
Today's historic groundbreaking of the new Langston Magnet School Building took place under sunny skies with lots of sunny smiles all around! On hand to celebrate were Mayor Pat McCabe; HSSD Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Nehus; Ann Hill, president of HS Board of Ed; HSSD Deputy Superintendent Lloyd Jackson; HS Chamber Ambassadors, and faculty and students of Langston Magnet School. Hot Springs World Class High School's Drumline, NJROTC Color Guard, and Cheerleaders provided enthusiastic accompaniment to the ceremony, made possible by 2016's millage election. Thank you, Hot Springs, for supporting students and families <3
This weekend, Life & Home tagged along for a wonderful awards breakfast in Little Rock that had everything to do with the Spa City -- Hot Springs' own Difference Makers nonprofit and Rev. Willie Wade, Jr., celebrated as the Citizen and Organization recipients for the AEA's 2017 Human & Civil Rights Award! Congratulations, Esther Hunter Dixon, executive director of Difference Makers of Hot Springs, and Rev. Wade, president & founder, for focusing on health, community and cultural enhancement! And thank you, Arkansas Education Association, for this honor <3
The Holidays are here! Dorothy Morris kicked off the Season of Giving with a reception, show and sale of watercolors by Arkansas artist Richard Stephens. Guests enjoyed a luscious spread catered by Robert Talley and live music while touring the pop-up gallery, where beautiful images of the Natural State lifted holiday spirits!
