BREAKING COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS:
Raul Malo, the lead singer of The Mavericks, has passed away at the age of 60, after battling a rare form of brain cancer.
The band's music transcended genres and generations of fans. They were named the Country Music Association's Vocal Group of the Year in 1995 and 1996 and received many accolades over the decades.
Raul is survived by his wife of 34 years, Betty; sons Dino, Victor, and Max, mother Norma, sister Carol, and Mavericks bandmates Paul Deakin, Eddie Perez, and Jerry Dale McFadden.
WBDC will have a musical tribute to Raul's legacy during Lunch with the Legends during the noon hour today.
