Join the Junior Auxiliary of George County for our annual Pack2School Palooza as we help local students get ready for a successful school year!

✏️ FREE school supplies for students (while supplies last)
👧👦 Each child must be present to receive supplies.

We now have Potential Tropical Cyclone One! As it moves over the Gulf, it is expected to become Tropical Storm Arthur. It will likely make landfall somewhere near the Texas/Louisiana border by Wednesday.

Heavy, flooding rain is still the main threat. We could get some of this heavy rain in South Mississippi.

BRIDGE CLOSURE UPDATES: Due to weather delays, Indian Hill Road will be closed and impassable at Hellhole Creek likely through the end of this week.

The Old Avera relief bridge north of the Chickasawhay will remain open while this work is completed.

Once Indian Hill is reopened, crews will transport the crane from Fourmile Creek to the relief bridge, at which point the relief bridge will close and Fourmile will open to local traffic.

It is Complete! This building was the original gas station in Lucedale built in 1923 and now houses George County Chamber of Commerce. The Arts Committee created this mural all reminiscent of 1923 and were determined to have it finished by today's 125/250 Celebration.

Last night at 11 pm some of our most faithful artists finished the last paint strokes. The picture does not do justice.

Come by, take a seat on the bench by Mr. Otis (created from the imagination of a couple of our artists) where he is reading the George County Times and take your photo.

Thank you to the City of Lucedale for their partnership of this project!
