On a summer morning in Marlboro, Vermont in the height of summer, one will likely hear music drifting through open windows and over rolling hillsides. A violin line may emerge from one rehearsal room while a pianist and cellist debate a phrase in another, their conversation blending with birdsong and rustling leaves. For musicians and listeners alike, the Marlboro Music Festival feels less like a traditional performance venue than a living musical community. For 75 years, Marlboro has quietly shaped the chamber music world, not by chasing prestige, but by cultivating true musicianship and excellence from the ground up. Each season, master artists and exceptional early-career professionals gather on a rural Vermont campus for a rehearsal-intensive chamber music retreat that has influenced how the repertoire is approached, how ensembles are formed, and how musical leadership is developed across generations. The weekend concerts are beloved, often sell out, and regularly draw listeners who arrive without knowing what they will hear in advance.

Touch-a-Truck
Manchester, VT | July 18, 11am

Cota & Cota is celebrating 85 years in business! They are excited to bring Touch-A-Truck to Manchester again at the Northshire Civic Center! Not your typical "car show," this event gives children and adults a hands-on experience interacting with vehicles of all shapes and sizes while getting to know many local businesses and organizations. Participants can honk horns, sit in the driver's seat, and interact directly with community operators. Cota & Cota typically brings their own propane/fuel trucks alongside vehicles from local organizations like Bennington County Habitat for Humanity and the Manchester Fire Department. Email [email protected] if you're interested in bringing a vehicle or being a vendor.

It was the first day of summer camp, and a group of young kids crouched in muddy sneakers at the water’s edge. There was a sudden flash of movement, and a counselor held up her hand to quiet the excitement, leaving only wind and birdsong. Curious little eyes watched intently as the counselor crept a little closer, paused, and then scooped her hands into the water. She displayed the prize, passing it to a nearby three-year-old, giddy at his first experience holding a frog. The nerves of the morning drop-off were already forgotten. The Frog Pond hike promised a summer full of nature’s wonder.

The Stratton Escape Room offers creative and immersive games that would satisfy even the most voracious puzzle-solvers, mystery-seekers, and amateur detectives among us.

Nestled across from the base of Stratton Mountain Resort’s access road, the Stratton Escape Room is redefining what it means to play—one immersive puzzle experience at a time. What began as a spark of inspiration during a family vacation has evolved into a unique and community-rooted attraction in Southern Vermont. I can now say from personal experience that it’s one you won’t want to miss!

It’s not that often we get to work on a home as beautifully built as this one, a classic lodge-style log cabin nestled near Stratton Mountain. It was featured in a log cabin magazine when experts in log cabin construction built it in the ‘90s, full of inspiring details like Adirondack bark trim and custom forged metal. It’s a timeless example of mountain architecture.

How the soul of snowboarding was reborn through HOMESICK at the mountain that changed winter sports forever.

There is a particular feeling that settles over Stratton Mountain in late March—softened snow, lengthening light, and the sense that winter is not quite ready to let go. It is in that magical space, when the season begins to exhale, that HOMESICK has found its home.
