Every Friday Morning, Shawnee TV produces a live 8-10 minute news and variety show for the entire Shawnee student body. Each episode covers the latest school announcements, promotes upcoming events, and aims to entertain with various skits and special show openings. Now in its 11th season, the crew produces a live broadcast Monday through Thursday called "Shawnee Wake Up" and produces "The Renegade Morning Show" Fridays.

Considering a study hall? Thinking about changing an elective? This is a class worth making room for.

When first taking CDM I knew I wasn't good at art so I took this to get my requirements out of the way. You don't have to worry about being good at something or not here at Shawnee there will always be a place for you.The best part of this class is seeing your finished work and feeling accomplished after learning how to shoot something you didn't think you could. If you are thinking about taking CDM you should, it is fun and you feel so productive after shooting something good.

COLIN-THE BEST PART OF THIS CLASS AS A SENIOR:

The best part of this class for me has been the freedom to pursue any creative idea you want. You learn all the skills you need and then you can apply them to your own projects. It also boosts your creativity and makes you think outside the box more. The skills I learned in this class will be used on all of my future creative projects

WHY I CHOSE CDM AS A FRESHMAN:

#1 You can build off of your own creativity
If you come up with a new idea like a video or photo or project you could go talk to Mr. Pistone and say hey i have an idea for this project and then you can talk with him and build it up together

#2 When i was about to go to shawnee for school i had to fill an art requirement out so i thought that this would be the best one to take so i took it

#3 When I first walked through the door I knew it was getting better and better. This room is one of the coolest rooms in Shawnee high school.

#4 This is a great way to make and meet new friends and have the opportunity to work with them. I am so glad that I met Colin and got to work with him through a lot of my projects and this one too

#5 You can get so much opportunities to learn how to use and work the camera there is a lot of cool stuff about it and different lenses for it its really cool.

AJ Hunt / Lyle Byrne:
“We both came into the TV Tech program freshman year with an interest in video, but we were unsure exactly what we wanted to do. From sophomore through senior year, we made films with each other and our classmates, developed our own creative styles, and built skills in cinematography, scriptwriting, and editing.

Because of this program, we went on field trips to Philadelphia media companies like NBC Sports and PBS, attended a documentary festival, won an LDTV award, and were selected for the New Jersey State Teen Arts Awards.”

Creative Digital Media is for students who want to create, film, edit, tell stories, and build real skills.

Blake and Tyler: We chose CDM because we wanted to learn something new and grow our skills in technology. We thought there would be more restrictive assignments, but instead we had more freedom to create our own projects. The freedom in the class ended up being our favorite part about it and if you’re thinking about taking it, go for it.

Claire: I first chose this class to fill out the art requirement and this looked like the one I would be best at, though I was a little nervous because I had never picked up a camera before. After doing it this year, I am very glad I picked it. At the beginning of the class you work on certain projects to help develop good photography and videography skills which allow you to be creative while still learning all the basics that allow you to create the cool ideas in the future. Then, through the year we got to choose our own projects and I was able to take really cool pictures with inspiration I saw online or that I came up with on my own. If you are thinking about taking this class, I definitely recommend it because you have so much creative freedom and can create anything that you can come up with.
