GOT OUR TEMPORARY TRANSMITTER GOING DOING FINAL ADJUSTMENTS!!! THAT STORM AND POWER OUTAGE WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE AT THE NEW SITE!

It's a whole new era for Richey fm ! We're in the process of moving everything over to our new transmitter site which will let us cover over 200,000 people in the community it's a bit of a long process because we have to get engineering and permits and there is a slight delay with that we also had some other things happen over the weekend after that big storm came through we had some damage to our transmission facilities that we have currently everything should be back on later today there was no power and some items God damaged we will be replacing them today we had to wait for the product to be available this morning. However, there is good news our new facility we'll have redundancy a second transmitter emergency power even a satellite link if the cable should go out. Most commercial FM stations don't even have that will be building out our facilities to stay on the air even if a hurricane hits us directly. We're still streaming will be adding a lot more music and some other surprises but also keep updating the page but right now we don't have many volunteers and we're all spread then trying to launch the station once that happens things will be bigger and better than ever more music more opportunities to help fulfill our mission of education job creation and promotion of the community at Large please be patient and we will keep you updated

Just wanted to give you guys an update I have been very lax on posting anything on social media in the past week. The reasons are we're working towards the final engineering for our new transmitter and tower, and is a priority at this point. And one of our great volunteers, Linda, has had to take some time off to help others. I had to deal with something that was not covid-19 but very covid-like. But that's the way things go when you're starting a community radio station.
Will be scheduling staff meeting in the next week or so and assigning duties so we have backup so that if Linda or myself are not available the show can go on. If you're interested in being a volunteer, drop me a line at [email protected] we have plenty of things to do, and it's pretty easy to find something that is of interest to you, and a great way to meet people and be part of the community

A-RATING FOR PASCO SCHOOLS: Pasco County Schools has earned an A-rating from the Florida Department of Education, marking a historic achievement for the district and reflecting significant academic gains across its schools.

District leaders announced Wednesday that the state’s annual school grades show major improvements, including the elimination of all schools previously under the state’s Bureau of School Improvement (BSI) oversight.

Schools placed under BSI oversight receive targeted state support due to academic performance indicators. This year, Pasco County reduced the number of schools under BSI oversight from eight schools to zero. While the district will no longer be under state BSI oversight next school year, officials said they will continue their Opportunity Schools initiative to provide additional support and resources to schools with the greatest needs.

The district also celebrated several additional milestones:

* For the first time since 2004, every Pasco County school earned a grade of C or higher.

* Thirty-one schools improved by at least one letter grade.

* Eighteen schools earned a new A-rating.

* Three schools made remarkable improvements from a D-rating to an A-rating:
* New River Elementary School
* Gulf Middle School
* Gulfside Elementary School
* Chester W. Taylor Elementary improved from an F-rating to a C-rating.

Superintendent Dr. John Legg credited the achievement to the dedication and teamwork of educators, staff, students and families throughout the district.

“This achievement reflects the incredible dedication of our teachers, support staff, administrators, students, and families,” Legg said. “An ‘A’ district rating and the elimination of all schools under state BSI oversight are the result of strong systems, support, and commitment that exist throughout our schools. While we are proud of this accomplishment, we also remain committed to continuing to invest in opportunities and support systems that help every child succeed.”

The district said the achievement represents one of the most significant academic turnarounds in recent history and highlights years of focused efforts to improve student performance and strengthen schools across Pasco County.
