The Focal Range

The Focal Range traces its routes back to our nations capital, Washington, D.C., where its founding members met while attending college at American University. While studying for a semester at The Film and Television School in Prague, CZ, Jonathan Gaynes, Eli Susser, and Ari Jacobson formed Tram 17 Productions. The trio began creating live music videos for a variety of well know musicians and DJs,

but soon moved onto professional music videos and bigger projects. Soon after graduating from American University, Felix Penzarella and Habib Awan formed Burning Glass Media. They spent two years working as filmmakers in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area honing their craft and perfecting their art. The two companies found themselves working on many projects together and soon became good friends. Realizing the potential they had not just as individuals, but as a team with a diverse skill set and experiences, they all decided to join forces. Adding Joseph Yoo to the team to handle business development and finance was the final ingredient needed to create The Focal Range. The guys then made the decision to establish TFR headquarters in Brooklyn, NY, where today they thrive amongst the top filmmakers in New York City.
