When I was very young and just getting into this sport—reading a stack of backdated CFB preview magazines—a graphic in the 1991 previews w/Colorado’s gold helmet squared up w/Georgia Tech’s gold helmet caught my eye

One of the first things I can remember is learning that the Buffs and Jackets were 1990 co-national champs. Their helmets and that graphic sparked curiosity and interest

For that reason I’ll always have a good feeling when these schools compete. Hope we get the hell of a battle tonight 🫡

George Halas founded the Chicago Bears & was a co-founder of the NFL itself

As a member of Great Lakes Navy Halas caught a TD at the 1919 Rose Bowl & returned an interception 77 yds, still a record, during a 17-0 win over the Mare Island Marines. Legend 🫡
