Thank you to a very engaged group of property owners on North Whidbey today.

I always enjoy these conversations because they give me a chance to explain what the Assessor’s Office actually does (and doesn’t do), answer questions, clear up misconceptions, and provide facts and data about property values and taxes.

I appreciate everyone who came out and participated. Public education and transparency matter.

I am honored to receive the endorsement of IAFF Local 3438, representing the professional firefighters who serve and protect our community every day.

Firefighters are on the front lines during some of our most challenging moments, and they deserve leaders who will support fair labor standards, competitive pay, strong benefits, and the resources needed to keep our communities safe.

I am grateful for the trust and confidence IAFF Local 3438 has placed in me and look forward to continuing to work alongside our first responders to ensure Island County remains a safe and resilient place to live, work, and raise a family.

We are discontinuing our coverage of the 2024 election as of Thu., Nov. 14, 2024. Island County Elections estimates that there are only 800 ballots remaining to count, and the closest race (BOCC2/JOHNSON v ELLIOTT) has a margin of 779 votes (1.61%) -- outside the margin required for automatic recounts. Thank you for watching with us, and look for the Election Watch to resume in 2025.
