We are so proud to have collaborated with Deep Medicine Circle to bring this film to life. “Farming Is Medicine” is a film that explores the connections between health and poverty, colonialism and climate change, farming and medicine and is part of a whole movement to de-commodify food on the national level.

Featuring Dr. Rupa Marya, Professor of Medicine and co-author of Inflamed - Deep Medicine and the Anatomy of Injustice. Walter Riley, a prominent Civil Rights leader and attorney. Charlene Vasquez, the founder of the Confederation of Ohlone People. Sage LaPena, Ethnobotanist and Doctor of Traditional Medicine. And Benjamin Fahrer, a Farmer and Engineer who designed the largest rooftop farm west of the Mississippi.

It was such a pleasure to attend the premiere of our short film “Farming Is Medicine” produced together with Deep Medicine Circle at a special event hosted by Bioneers. So many beautiful and intentional people coming together to build a movement for food justice and sovereignty in the times of capitalist despotism.

Recently we had the honor of collaborating with Rupa Marya and Deep Medicine Circle on a short film that illuminates their work of healing the wounds of colonialism through food, medicine, story, restoration & learning.

Their work is deeply structural. It is re-imagining and re-building our food systems to be based in care, not based in profit. I think this work is most crucial for our planet right now because it lies at the crux of worker's rights, indigenous rights, human health, and the health of our planet and it is through this powerful combination that the wildest results can be achieved.

Deeply honored to have met these gentle, yet absolutely bad-ass farmers and warriors.
