Simply unbelievable: a symmetrical eyewall as seen on satellite imagery is coming ashore in Jamaica with Major Hurricane Melissa, as we speak.

I can only imagine the horrific conditions not only along the coastline, but now inland over the higher terrain that the residents of Western Jamaica are now experiencing.

Hurricane Melissa, according to the latest update from the National Hurricane Center, now has winds of 180 mph. ***Update: Now 185MPH winds./ Pressure 892mb

Several professional hurricane chasers are in place, including Jeff Piotrowski, who is expected to pass through the eye shortly and is currently located in Santa Cruz.

Unbelievably ominous early satellite imagery this morning shows an extremely dangerous Hurricane Melissa slowly drifting towards the beautiful island of Jamaica with core winds of 175mph.

Thinking of everyone in Jamaica about the scary situation they will experience today. Please stay safe.
