Vehicle Takes Scenic Route Over Incomplete I-24 Bridge
At approximately 6:00 AM this morning (July 29, 2025), deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office were alerted by construction workers to a rather unusual sight: a vehicle stuck on the construction portion of the I-24 bridge.
Somehow, this adventurous driver managed to ignore—or heroically outwit—multiple signs, barriers, and large flashing indicators basically saying "Don't Go This Way." Undeterred, the vehicle boldly navigated onto the section of the bridge where, minor detail, entire chunks are still missing.
In what can only be described as a heartfelt tribute to American horsepower (or complete disregard for engineering), the vehicle bounced over several gaps before reaching the unavoidable limit of its journey: the end of the concrete. Literally.
Deputies are still scratching their heads trying to determine exactly how this happened. In the meantime, the operator of the vehicle was issued citations for:
- Reckless Driving
- Disregarding a Traffic Control Device
- Disregarding Traffic Regulations 1st Degree
- Possession of Ma*****na
It’s worth noting that regular traffic on the bridge was not affected—because, clearly, this escapade took place far from anything resembling the travel portion of the roadway.
