At 30 years old, when I began to work on this project with David Debiak (2001-02), I was in the mid stages of learning my craft of recording and producing music and still honing my skills.
This compositional masterpiece gave me an opportunity to catapult my abilities into a realm I had not yet achieved. From the first note to when the final mix was completed, there was magic being laid to tape. We got to experiment and explore a musical and sonic landscape inspired by Dave's beautifully succinct poetry, limited only by our imaginations.
Upon revisiting the tracks, I was both delighted and surprised by the technical quality of the individual tracks and was once again inspired to bring them to life. I believe that with these remixed versions, we have honored and maintained the aesthetics of the original while breathing new life and energy into it. I am very excited to reintroduce this amazing work to the world.
