Happy Winter Solstice

Right now this season feels especially heavy for many of us.

The days are short. The nights feel long. The world feels colder—not just in weather, but in words, policies, and silence.

And yet… today matters.

The Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year—and also a turning point.
From here on out, the light returns. Slowly. Quietly. Almost imperceptibly at first.

Just a minute more daylight.
But that minute counts.

For anyone who has been told to dim themselves…
For anyone waiting for safety, affirmation, or relief…
For anyone holding on through exhaustion or fear—

This is your reminder: darkness does not get the final word.

Light doesn’t always arrive all at once.
Sometimes it comes in small ways:
a text from someone who sees you,
a hug freely given,
a community that refuses to let you walk alone.

Today we honor those small lights.
We trust the turning.
We believe that even now, even here, the days ahead hold more light than the days behind.

You are not alone.
You are worthy of warmth, safety, and joy.
And the light is coming back.
