Thank you to everyone who participated yesterday in my cheese curd poll. By a surprising 2:1 margin, it would seem that Wisconsinites prefer fried over fresh, which I would have believed the opposite. You can find fried curds in many parts of America, but fresh are pretty much only found in Wisconsin.

I did find some fresh curds at Tillamook Creamery, and they were actually super good. However, people were also freaking out about seeing fresh curds for the first time.

Alright guys, I’m curious on how you feel about a very important questions to Wisconsinites. When it comes to cheese curds, is the fresh curd or fried curd your choice? I held a vote on this a while back and got a vote of 50/50. So, what do you like more?

Also, where do you get your favorite curds? I’ll list my favorite 3 from each category.

THE TROPHY IS HOME!

Today, I had the honor of officially delivering the Wonderfully Wisconsin Burger Challenge trophy to Pete's Garage Bar, your pick for Wisconsin’s Favorite Burger!

Of course, I had to enjoy a burger after delivering the trophy. I went with the double gas cap, their name for a standard double cheeseburger. No frills, just a damn good burger. My wife went with their special today, a French onion burger, that she said may have been her favorite burger that we’ve had yet. I took a bite and agreed that it’s certainly outstanding.

Congratulations to Pete’s, and a HUGE thank you to everyone who voted, shared, followed along, and made this challenge so much fun. Also, thank you to the many people at Pete’s who came up and said such nice things about the burger challenge and the burger tour. You guys are the reason behind the tournament.
