🔥 ALLENTOWN | 3RD ALARM FIRE | 500 BLOCK ALLEN STREET

A third-alarm fire tore through several row homes in Allentown earlier today, sending thick smoke across the neighborhood and bringing a massive response from city firefighters and mutual-aid companies.

Crews arrived to heavy fire conditions and quickly stretched multiple hoselines to stop the spread. Firefighters also performed at least one dramatic rescue, pulling a resident from a third-floor window as smoke poured from the building. That individual was transported to the hospital; their condition is not yet known.

Multiple families — including several children — have been displaced. Fire crews remained on scene for several hours working on hot spots and overhauling the upper floors.

The Allentown Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.

ESSEX COUNTY, N.J. — Emergency crews responded to South Orange Avenue and Bergen Street in Newark for a report of an officer needing assistance.

According to initial dispatch information, an ICE officer was injured during an altercation or assault. The officer was transported by EMS and was reported to be conscious and alert but bleeding from the head.
