The 41st Annual Journey for Sight 5K Road Race & 1 Mile Walk is Thursday, July 16, 6:30–8 PM, and registration is open now. 👟 Hosted by the Reading Lions Club & Friends of Reading Recreation, this family-friendly run/walk through central Reading supports the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund.

🦟 Heads up, Reading! The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project will be spraying for mosquitoes in parts of Reading on the nights of June 24 and June 25, between sunset and 11:30 PM. No special precautions are needed, but if you see a spray truck approaching, head indoors for a few minutes and close your windows.

The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project will be conducting mosquito larvicide spraying in Reading during the final week of June.

🚧 Heads up, Reading! Construction is coming to the intersection of Main Street and Salem Street starting June 22. Work includes traffic signal upgrades and a new pedestrian crossing at Memorial Park, and is expected to last one to two weeks. Expect detours and delays in the area.

On June 4th, the community came together to celebrate the Reading Public Library Foundation's 30th anniversary and the ribbon cutting of the library's brand new outdoor terrace. Thank you to everyone who has supported the library over the years — this one's for Reading.
