The heat advisory is back in effect today! Take care of yourselves!

⚠️ HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT ⚠️

A Heat Advisory is in effect today (Saturday) from noon to 8 PM and again Sunday from noon to 2 AM Monday for Rowan County and surrounding areas.

🌡️ Today: Heat index values up to 107° expected.
🌡️ Sunday: Heat index values could climb to 110°.

🥵 What This Means:
Dangerously hot conditions will increase the risk of heat-related illness, especially with extended outdoor activity.

🚨 Safety Tips:
• Stay hydrated — drink plenty of water
• Avoid being outdoors during peak afternoon heat
• Never leave children or pets in vehicles
• Take frequent breaks in shade or air conditioning
• Check on elderly neighbors and family

Signs of Heat Illness:
Confusion, dizziness, nausea, or rapid pulse — if you see these symptoms, move to a cool place and seek help. Heat stroke is an emergency — call 911.

Stay weather-aware and take precautions — this kind of heat is serious.
