Cape Cod British Car Club

Cape Cod British Car Club Founded in Aug 2000 the CCBCC membership nears 300 members who like British Cars. You do not need a British Car to join www.capecodbritishcarclub.org

The idea behind the Cape Cod British Car Club started in Aug 2000. After acting as the hosts for a Cape Cod event sponsored by New England Triumphs on Memorial Day weekend, Bob Greene, Kevin D. Thompson and Brian Nickerson thought it would be great to have more events on beautiful Cape Cod. The ocean views coupled with scenic roadways make Cape Cod perfect for leisurely trips in British roadster a

utomobiles, not only in the summer, but year-round. The group felt that there should be enough interest in a club on Cape Cod by residents and visitors alike. In August 2000, organizational efforts began. Fittingly, the first, informal organizational meeting took place at the British Beer Company in Falmouth Heights. Steve Harris, who buzzed the Memorial Day Triumph event with a classic old Lincoln convertible (he also owned 5 Triumphs), joined the planning and serious work got underway when the group established the Cape Cod British Car Club. Flyers and cards went out to all the usual suspects, as well as members of other Clubs who live on or near the Cape. By the end of October, paid-up members comprised over 20 British car owners, both on the Cape and off. After a number of informal meetings involving the four organizers at appropriate Cape Cod watering holes, the first formal public meeting was held on a cold and rainy November Tuesday in Yarmouth. The weather was not cooperative; however, a surprising 30+ people attended. Between the pizza and beer, actual business occurred. Officers were elected, bylaws approved and initial planning for events and activities commenced. After our first year, membership hovered around 150, and covered 7 states. Our first year saw over 30 different club activities ranging from biweekly cruise nights to backyard barbecues, local car shows, tours, dinner cruises, drive-in movies, and lots more. We also had our first major event in October of 2001. This was a three day long British extravaganza that has come to be known as the British Legends Weekend. Our first event attracted over 100 vehicles and now is a yearly happening not to be missed. Check out the updates on this website for the next annual British Legends Weekend and other events! Within a few years, the club’s membership reached over 300 with about as many members off-Cape as on. As a relatively newcomer, CCBCC became one of the larger British car clubs in New England. Events spanned a relatively large geographic area, with about half of the events off-Cape to serve that component of the membership. The club is now more than a decade old but still an active organization. New leaders have stepped forward to guide the direction of the club and it has been refreshing. Come join us at an upcoming event on our calendar. Don’t by shy; just elbow yourself into any conversation. Your involvement will pay back dividends.

The CCBCC raised $2400 for Independence House, Inc. Hyannis, MA. !!! This past Sunday, the Cape Cod British Car Club (CCBCC) celebrated its 23rd Annual Freezin’ Run for Kids fundraiser at the Overlook Club House, Pine Hills in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The Independence House in Hyannis, is an organization dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by domestic and sexual violence. Freezin’ Run participants brought gift cards and items for a silent auction. Members who could not attend had mailed donations prior to the event. 100% of the proceeds, donations, and gift cards would be donated to the Independence House.
The crisp autumn morning saw twenty-three British Cars assembled for a 30 mile scenic cruise through picturesque farmland, lush forests, horse farms, and along the stunning Plymouth seacoast. Thirty five participants then gathered for a lunch and the much anticipated silent auction. The bidding was fierce on many of the items, especially the home baked cookies which were well known amongst the crowd. Car accessories were also extremely popular. Thanks to the generosity of the club members at the auction along with their gift cards and cash donations, the CCBCC raised an impressive $2,400 for Independence House.
The CCBCC would like to thank everyone who supported this event. And a big thank you to the organizing committee, who dedicated a lot of time and effort to pull off a flawless event. The Freezin’ Run is a cherished annual tradition for the Cape Cod British Car Club. Now in its 23rd year, the event stands as a testament to the club's enduring spirit of having fun, helping others and our community, and driving our cars!!

A huge thank you goes out to Mike and Pam Dallaire for coordinating and leading a group of intrepid travelers from the Cape Cod British Car Club this past Halloween Weekend on a journey of discovery to Martha's Vineyard. Needless to say it was a huge success on all levels especially for some of us that have never been on this excursion previously. After we did a brief Meet and Greet in the cozy and comfortable fireplaced Gathering Room of the landmark Harbor View Hotel on Friday Night we then proceeded for a boisterous dinner at the Town Bar and Grill that included some fine comfort food as well as the group getting to know each other better.

Saturday started off with a meet up at the Tashmoo Overlook where even more British Car Talent joined the group for a Grand Vineyard Tour that included a stop at Menemsha Beach, Gay Head, Aquinnah Lighthouse, Oak Bluffs, flocks of turkeys, a tour of South Beach and even an unfortunate deer encounter with an MG, among other things, during an event filled drive amongst the scenic Martha's Vineyard countryside. The memory making day was capped by a splendid group dinner event at the upscale fine dining restaurant Bettini, which operates within the Harbor View Hotel. The Wine Room at Bettini won the Prestigious Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence for 2025. Discussions among old and new friends were filled with the events of the day, remembrances of the past and plans for the future, revolving mainly around the wonderful British Classics we all still enjoy with passion and borderline devotion.

Sunday was the concluding day but was again filled with more adventures for some that had later departure times. A contingency from the group were fortunate enough to be the beneficiaries of a guided tour of the tranquil and magical landscapes of the Poly Hill Arboretum featuring rare trees and shrubs from around the world. To conclude the journey, other adventurers from the group visited Vineyard standout must sees such as the Island Alpaca Farm, Jaws Bridge, Telegraph Hill / East Chop Lighthouse, Vineyard Haven, Edgartown, the Flagship Black Dog Tavern and many other unforgettable locations on the Island.

An amazing weekend was had by all with many memories created as well as previous trips remembered by past attendees. An exclamation point to one of the final gatherings of the year as the November chill starts to bring sweater weather or Tops Up temperatures for us convertible owners. As Thanksgiving approaches we certainly have much to be thankful for as we wrap up another incredible event and friendship filled year with the Cape Cod British Car Club. Don't forget about this coming weekend with the Annual Signature Event - Freezin Fun Run 4 Kids Fundraiser for Independence House. Please refer to our website bcccc.org for more details and register by 11/04.

The assemblage of British Talent at the stately Harbor View Hotel, a landmark destination which opened on July 23, 1891 - what a facility. Can't wait for the Island Adventure with an amazing motoring group on Saturday.

On the journey to Martha's Vineyard in some mighty rough seas for our weekend with the Cape Cod British Car Club folks to check out the sights. Another 1st as we have never made the journey and can't think of a better group to do some Island exploring with. Might even venture over to Chappaquidick if we stay motivated. Stay tuned 😉

Just a stunning Autumn day for a Cape Cod British Car Club Cuise from Falmouth to Bourne along mesmerizingly scenic roads, sparsely attended beaches and Primo British vehicle talent. Once again the club out kicked the coverage and a great time was had by all. Culinary awards go out to the Iris Hotel in Falmouth for breakfast and a fine Pre Cruise gathering spot as well as the Lobster 🦞 Trap Restaurant in Bourne, for the post cruise lunch wrap up. Thanks to all the attendees which included some welcome neighbors from the BMCNE as well as all that organized another tremendous fall event for the Cape Cod British Car Club.

We still have a few events remaining on our itinerary, please check out our website for a wealth of information regarding the schedule and other club news of interest.
