A young officer gave her life while trying to save others.

La Mesa Police Officer Lauren Craven, 25, was tragically killed Monday night on Interstate 8.

She had stopped to help drivers involved in a crash when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle 💔

Officer Craven had just joined the La Mesa Police Department in February 2024.

Her courage and selflessness in those final moments reflect the very best of public service.

She gave her life trying to help others.

Please keep Officer Craven, her family, friends, and the entire La Mesa Police Department in your thoughts and prayers. 💙🙏
