Fountain Creek Nature Center Thursday and Friday program

2's & 3's Outdoors: Bye Bye Birdie Thursday, September 11, 2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. & Friday, September 12, 9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.

Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. Prepaid registration required. $3 per person including siblings and adults.

South Academy closures Tuesday thru Thursday this week

There will be overnight temporary full closures of northbound South Academy Boulevard between US 85/87 and Milton Proby Parkway on Tuesday, Sept. 9 through Thursday, Sept. 11, 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for asphalt paving operations. Detours will be in place, including:

🔸Northbound traffic will exit at US 85/87 and travel south to Fontaine Boulevard, east to Grinnell Boulevard, north to Bradley Road and west to South Academy Boulevard.

🔸Northbound traffic will exit at US 85/87 and travel south to Fontaine Boulevard, turn north onto Grinnell Boulevard, turn west onto Bradley Road, turn north onto Hancock Expressway, turn west onto Milton Proby Parkway, and enter northbound South Academy.

⚠️The speed limit in this area has been reduced to 60 MPH. Traffic delays of 10-15 minutes are expected and motorists are urged to use extra caution while traveling in the area. Fines will be doubled through the construction zone.

Our crews were out last night for the Widefield High School Homecoming football match up. It is our honor to provide the medical standbys for all Widefield and Mesa Ridge home football games!

And we always make time to give the tours for the kids!

W***y Tuz will be in Fountain to show us all how to carve amazing and intricate designs on our pumpkins. And of course, later that day, at 5 p.m., there'll be the Nightmare on Main Street dance that goes til 9 p.m.

OH MY GOURD 9 a.m. til 2 p.m.

NIGHTMARE ON MAIN STREET 5 p.m. til 9 p.m.

Meet Officer Fouts, the new SRO at Welte Education Center.

Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8

Officer Fouts has a passion for helping and mentoring students, building strong relationships, and preparing kids for all aspects of life. Before joining us in Fountain, he worked in Arizona on the Special Weapons and Tactics team, then served as a patrol officer with the Fountain Police Department.

A few fun facts:
❄️ Even though he’s from the Arizona desert, he loves cold weather and snowboarding.

🚴‍♂️ He’s an outdoor enthusiast—mountain biking, hiking, and hunting are some of his favorite pastimes.
