First and foremost we’re making this post to apologize to for making an honest mistake and utilizing their pic for our Waverly Hills in our post recently. We have folders for all our locations and i personally made the mistake of having what I thought was an amazing picture mixed in with our other pics for this particular location, and if i knew the photographer i would be sure to give them the credit they deserve. For those who’ve said we’re ignoring comments and posts, you’re incorrect with that we just returned from traveling. We have scheduled posts due to traveling and are just catching up now. Those whom decided to screen shot and bash us based off of a mistake, go ahead that’s fine people are entitled to their own opinions and by all means have those opinions because anyone whom actually knows us will undoubtedly tell you your wrong. Built as a tuberculosis sanatorium because mountain setting was thought to be ideal for treatment. Functioned as a full sanatorium with patient wards, support buildings, and long-term care routines. Focus was on rest, nutrition, and clean air to accomplish recovery. It served patients for several decades, especially in the 1910s through 1940s, but its importance declined after antibiotics made TB easier to treat in the 1950s. Property was later repurposed for other institutional uses. Some sources and local histories note that the site was connected at various times with youth education programs or school-related use, while other parts of the complex were used as a correctional or prison-type facility. Over the years, the buildings changed function several times as the original medical purpose ended, and the property was adapted to meet new needs.

once a medium-security prison that operated from 1977 to 2011. Before housing adult inmates, the 740-acre campus served as a pioneering alcoholism treatment center and a state reform school for boys. Today, the site has been successfully redeveloped into a commercial, recreational, and public park.
