If you’ve never been to LUMA, it’s one of the most unique things Binghamton does all year.

The LUMA Projection Arts Festival brings artists from around the world to downtown Binghamton, using the buildings themselves as part of the projections.

Most of it is free, you can walk from one display to the next, and it’s something pretty much anyone can enjoy.

At the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, there’s a 9/11 memorial that’s stood here since 2002.

At its center is a steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center…a permanent place to remember those lost on September 11, 2001.

Never forget.

Some things just feel different in person.

The LUMA Projection Arts Festival transforms historic buildings in downtown Binghamton, NY with massive light projections created by artists from around the world.

Watching an entire building change in front of you is a completely different experience.
