Happy 84th birthday to Maria Muldaur!

In 1973, Maria released her first solo album, 'Maria Muldaur,' which featured her biggest hit, "Midnight at the Oasis." In her long-spanning music career, Muldaur worked with many incredible artists, including Leon Russell, the Grateful Dead, and Willie Nelson. This past April, we were honored to host Maria for a Legacy Concert at The Church Studio.

In 1979, Van Morrison returned to his native Belfast for the first time in 4 years to put on a show—opening with Moondance, the band playing with him is the same with which he recorded his 1978 album 'Wavelength.'

We are sad to hear of the passing of Ray D. Rowe, early member of the GAP Band and recording client of the studio.

On the 50th anniversary of the recording of Magician's Holiday, Ray, joined by other GAP Band member Chris Clayton and Mayor Monroe Nichols came to The Church Studio, and Tulsa declared November 2nd 'The GAP Band Day.'

The Gap Band is an integral part of Tulsa's recognition for its influence in American music and wouldn’t have had the success without Ray.
