I had an amazing first experience at ☕️✨ .918 = a SWEET Tulsa find!

I absolutely loved my Churro Latte! 🤤 Cinnamon-y, sweet and SO delicious!

Dulce Vida at 81st & Yale serves up Mexican-inspired coffee drinks and bakery items, making it the perfect spot to try something a little different. And as if the coffee wasn’t enough reason to stop by… they have an AXOLOTL PET! 🥹🦎

Coffee + pastries + an adorable aquatic friend? Can I come back every week?!

☕️ Coffee with a purpose in Broken Arrow! 💙

I got to meet some of the loveliest people in Broken Arrow the other day at Not Your Average Joe Coffee Shop, and I absolutely loved learning more about their mission.

Not Your Average Joe is a nonprofit coffee shop dedicated to employing students and adults with differences — creating meaningful opportunities, building confidence and bringing people together. ❤️

The shop shares space with Emerson Orthdontics, and Dr. Emerson generously provides the space to NYAJ rent-free. How amazing is that?

And the coffee? SO good. I enjoyed a delicious iced shaken espresso along with their famous Powerballs — oats + protein = the perfect little coffee-shop snack!

Craig and the entire staff were absolutely wonderful, and I left feeling like I had discovered something really special in Broken Arrow.

So, the next time you need a coffee, drink your coffee and support an incredible nonprofit while you’re at it! ☕️🙌

Our adventures along Route 66, celebrating the Mother Road’s Centennial, continued in July with a visit to Empire Slice House Tulsa 🍕 in Meadow Gold District | Route 66 in Tulsa, Oklahoma! This was somehow my first time there, and I was so impressed. You can buy pizzas whole or by the slice. Bernie and I loved the Midnight Cowboy 🤠 slice … it includes brisket and the yummiest BBQ sauce and will only be on the menu through the end of August. The pepperoni slice and garlic knots were also delicious. We needed something sweet and inquired about the Little Shondas - four no-bake cookies from the owner’s mama’s famous recipe … includes chocolate, peanut butter, coconut, & vanilla. Shonda definitely knew what she was doing when it comes to no-bake cookies! Yum!😋

All of this pizza consumption got us wondering how other people eat their slices. Do you eat it the “ladylike” way, like Bernie, cutting it with a fork and knife? Or do you just use the messy hands 🖐️ method, like me? Do you fold your slices? Is there a right way to do all of this? 🤣

All right, , we only have 5 months left in 2026 to explore food spots along Route 66! Where should the Route 66 Chics 🐥🐣 go next?

We had the most delightful breakfast at Egg It On Cafe in Broken Arrow. This lovely restaurant hidden in a shopping center has an extensive breakfast and lunch menu and is super kid-friendly. Obviously, the boys raved about their smiley face pancake and waffle covered in whipped cream. My Nutella Crepe with strawberries and bananas was huge and delicious, but let’s not forget about that PERFECT orange cranberry muffin. My husband loved his Grande Avocado Omelet, filled with bacon, avocado and Monterrey Jack. The service we received from John was top notch. This will be one of our breakfast go-tos!
