All of us here at Leopold Press would like to take a moment to thank our friends at County Line Magazine for their support over the years. From the very first NEWTONBERG book up through THE SILENCE BEWEEN, they have been a constant friend to us in getting the word out about our books.

We wish them the best in whatever the future holds for them!

The number 250 takes center stage in this new issue. Not only are we celebrating the freedom put into motion 250 years ago, but this is also County Line Magazine’s 250th issue since we began in January 2000. With this milestone comes the announcement that we are closing County Line Magazine, and this issue is our last. Please enjoy!

Today is Independent Bookstore Day! IBD is a national celebration held on the last Saturday of April to celebrate indie bookstores with exclusive books, literary items, contests, and events.

Over 2,000 independent bookstores participate across the U.S., and one of those is Bound Books in Lindale! While we won't be there in person, consider this our recommendation to go show your love and support for them.

If you're not near Lindale, there are thousands more indie bookshops out there -- there's likely one near you! Stop by today and show your love and support for all inde bookstores do to promote authors and reading.

We're excited to announce the second book in our LEOPOLD MASTERWORKS series of annotated classics: Christopher Morley's THE HAUNTED BOOKSHOP, the sequel to PARNASSUS ON WHEELS (book one of LEOPOLD MASTERWORKS).

Step inside Brooklyn’s most unusual bookshop—where every shelf has a story, every book has a mission, and the proprietor believes literature can save the world.

In The Haunted Bookshop (1919), Christopher Morley brings Roger and Helen Mifflin back to the page in a spirited blend of mystery, literary appreciation, and post‑war reflection. Part love letter to books, part adventure, part cultural commentary, the novel captures a moment when ideas felt urgent and booksellers felt like guardians of civilization.

Paired here with Morley’s rare essay “Meditations of a Bookseller,” this annotated edition offers both the bustling life of the shop and the private philosophy of the man behind the counter. Together, they form a vivid portrait of a bookseller, a marriage, and a world learning to hope again.

Perfect for lovers of bookshops, literary history, and the irresistible charm of Christopher Morley.

It's Valentine's Day weekend, and here at Leopold Press we love love.

If you're looking for something romantic to read this weekend, we can suggest:

- THE SILENCE BETWEEN, our newest offering, focusing on teenage love and relationships in a 1980s small town.
-ALL THAT REMAINS: A NEWTONBERG STORY, the one that (literally) started it all. Even though it is the second book in the NEWTONBERG saga, it came out of the first-ever Newtonberg story I wrote, back in 1992.
- THE HIDDEN HEART AND OTHER POEMS, for those who like their romance in small doses.
- Our annotated edition of Christopher Morley's PARNASSUS ON WHEELS -- for the "Hallmark Hall of Fame" variety of love story.
- Our LITTLE LEO series, for those who prefer "puppy love."

Whatever this weekend holds for you, we hope it includes time spent with loved ones, whether that is your spouse, significant other, or family (furry or otherwise).

After all, it is love that makes us all better people. In the words of Elizabeth Barrett Browning: "I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you."
