So a contact just informed me that on the first day back from the 24 day long strike. The bus service had 16 bus drivers call off 🙄

From RTC Alerts Page:

We have been notified that, due to a labor strike, transportation has been interrupted. apologizes for any disruptions this causes for as well as those waiting for service. Please check back for more information as it becomes available.

Currently the routes below will be running with limited service on 10/12/21:

Route 1: 6:00am to 10:00pm

Route 7: 6:00am to 2:00pm and 3:00pm to 12:00am

Route 11: 6:00am to 12:30am

Regional Connector: 6:17am and 5:00pm.

We continue to be stranded while the union refuses to negotiate a contact. The contracting company is not being fined for miss trips. Which means they’re not suffering. In fact the union is saving them money.
200 employees walked
8 hours/day
10 Days
$32/hr medium wage
=$512,000 Saved

This second strike is on the 11th day.
170 employees walked
8 hours/day
10 Days
$32/hr medium wage
=$435,200 Saved

Total and still counting is $947,200. When you calculate other factors like maintenance & payroll taxes it well above the million dollar thresh hold. Congratulation union… you just played yourself

It's funny, every job I worked. I either gave them my availability or they told me when to work. So b/c these guys want to pick and choose what they work for. We all miss out on going to work, going to our doctor's appointments. All as we wait for them to come back to work and be as****es to us again.

A little more than a month after the last bus driver strike, the Teamsters Local 533 union called for another one.
