Along with myself, Chris Raveis, Dan Farr (CFO), Judi Desiderio (SVP), and support staff, we had a terrific time in the Hamptons and North Fork last week. Over a hundred sales associates and managers turned out for my Hamptons Roadshow. On Wednesday and Thursday, I met with our teams in Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Montauk, Southampton, and Westhampton Beach. On Friday, I took the North-South Ferry to visit our Greenport and Mattituck offices. Chris and I also interviewed several top producers looking to join our growing family business. From the fun beach gathering to the spectacular weather, everything was picture-perfect.

During our meetings, we discussed the marketplace and how Elite Concierge Services sets us apart. We are the only company in the nation with home, mortgage, insurance, utilities, and moving services together under one roof. William Raveis has just been selected #1 in the U.S. It means a lot to clients that they are dealing with the best luxury brokerage and the best agents to list and sell their home.

A big note of thanks to our wonderful sales associates, managers, and support teams for their dedication to the William Raveis Charitable Fund (WRCF). Together over the years, we've successfully raised $5M+ for cancer research!

Everyone is affected by cancer in some way. The WRCF started in 2004, when Carolyn Deal, President of William Raveis, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Years later my wife, Candy Raveis, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and we changed our fundraising efforts to support a cure for all types of cancer. In 2015, WRCF partnered with Damon Runyon, and later with Dana-Farber, after a good friend told us about this prestigious organization and their commitment to groundbreaking cancer research.

Giving back to our communities and helping others is the heart and soul of our family business. Meghan Raveis, WRCF Managing Partner, championed our annual Ride + Walk and coordinated 40+ local events for Damon Runyon and Dana-Farber. Damon Runyon honored me in 2019, and Meghan Raveis sat on the Damon Runyon Board of Directors until 2023. Melissa Cohn, RVP of William Raveis Mortgage, also has a leadership role with Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. It has been an amazing journey.

Looking ahead, we have exciting WRCF activities underway (Art, Gold for Good, Dining, Shred-it events & more). Building on their success with Music 4 A Cure, Ryan Raveis and our Fairfield and Boston committees are launching two Ravestock concerts in loving memory of Meghan Raveis this fall. Saving for a home can feel like a steep climb, but here's a little secret: you don't have to do it all on your own.

Gift funds (yes, actual money gifted from a family member or approved donor!) can be a huge help when it comes to covering your down payment or closing costs. But before Mom or Grandpa pulls out the checkbook, there are a few boxes to check, like a simple gift letter and sometimes proof of where the funds came from. Totally doable, especially with the right guidance.
